Much of our zoning work coincides with our housing needs assessment product, including authoring zoning code that enables mixed-use, walkable environments and missing middle housing. We offer both tactical district-by-district zoning reform as well as complete reformation of a town or city’s zoning ordinance.

Complete rewrite of existing zoning code with or without map amendments. CommunityScale focuses on compliance with enabling legislation, legibility, and achieving community goals through the rezoning process.

Walkable, mixed-use, and transit-oriented zoning districts can enable the creation of great infill and new neighborhoods.

Zoning Audit
Detailed review of existing zoning compared to the community’s goals, looking for issues that can be corrected in a complete rezoning or in a new district. The audit can look at both legal issues as well as issues with the dimensional and use tables contributing to widescale nonconformity.
