While at Stantec, members of our team lead the development of strategic, implementation-focused Covid-recovery plans for downtowns in Leominster, Athol, and Sturbridge, MA. Under the guidance of the Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD), these plans identified critical challenges and needs in each downtown and provided a series of recommended projects to address them, including public and private realm improvements, business support and capacity building, regulatory changes, and district management strategies.

As downtowns across Massachusetts worked to recover from the economic shock of COVID-19, several needed practical, implementation-focused plans to guide their next steps.
